Cape Nidhra

With summer officially here in Thailand, there is no better place to be than the beach. And one of the closest, most popular beaches to Bangkok is Hua Hin, our all time favourite place. Having drove past it during our last trip, I decided to book in at Cape Nidhra Hotel, the private pool suites, which is a part of the renowned Small Luxury Hotels of the World or SLH. Located on the main Petchakasem Road that leads right through Hua Hin, you would not miss the hotel.

Like most luxury hotels these days, checking in was a breeze with the help of friendly staffs. After the formalities of showing us our suite, we just could not wait to get into our swimsuits and dive into the cool water of our private pool on the balcony.

In addition to our private pool, the suite presents a large bathroom with huge granite tub, as well as a separate rain shower.

Having visiting several luxury hotels, one of the most important things that we look for is comfortable bed for our stay. Luxury, Cape Nidhra offers just that, as well as some extra pillows of our choices if we decide to replace those already provided in our suite.

While the room has been comfortable, the overall layout of the hotel is not the best that we like. Cape Nidhra stretches from the main road towards the beach, which is around 100 meters in depth. Thus walking to and from the beach, or just to grab something in our room, especially when we happened to forgot something, could be quite a walk.

Now talking about some delicacies. After enjoying ourselves in the pool, we decided to order something to eat. In addition to some appetisers, we ordered one of the most popular desserts for summer, mango with sticky rice, which proved to be a winner for our afternoon.

Breakfast at Cape Nidhra is served at the Rocks Restaurant next to the main pool and beach. On offered were both western and local delicacies, as well as several fresh juices, pastries and salads to choose from.

One of our favourite rooms at Cape Nidhra is their reading room, located next to the reception desk. This would be a really nice place to enjoy some quiet reads, or using the provided computer to surf the internet.

Overall, we love the quality of Cape Nidhra, both the property and services on offer. In addition, the white building with oak colored pillars offer something refreshing for the looks of the hotel too.
